Abstract: This study aimed to determine the growth of leaves and roots in the pakcoymustard
(Brassica rapa) using hydroponic system with the AB Mix nutrition fertilizer. The data
analysis used was to measure the number of leaves (Jd), leaf width (Ld), leaf length (Pd),
number of roots (Ba), root length (Pa), and plant weight (Bt). Plant tools and media used were
pipes, net pots, panel cloth, rockwool, TDS/EC, and water. The results of the analysis showed
that the treatment of AB Mix nutrition gave a significant effect on the meter observing the
number of leaves, leaf width, leaf length, number of roots, and root length. At the age of one
week the number of leaves consists of three, leaf width: 0.5 cm, leaf length: 1.5 cm, there are 3
roots with the root length: 1 cm. At the age of two weeks, the number of leaves consists of 6,
wide: 2 cm, long: 5 cm, there are 5 roots with the long: 3.5 cm. At the age of three weeks the
number of leaves consists of 9 leaves, wide: 4 cm, long: 8 cm, there are 9 roots with the long
root: 7.5 cm. At the age of four weeks the number of leaves consists of 11 leaves, leaf width: 8
cm, leaf length: 12 cm, there are 13 roots with the root length is 12 cm and a weight plant is
100 gram/ plants to use AB Mix nutrients. It is showed that the growth and development of
mustard pakcoy ( Brassica rapa ) hydroponic system with AB Mix nutrition has a significant
effect on the growth of leaf number (Jd), leaf width (Ld), leaf length (Pd), number of roots
(Ba), root length (Pa) and plant weight (Bt).

Abstract: Many factors must be considered in agricultural development in North Sumatra ranging
from farmers as producers, availability of land for production, cultivation of planting,
superior seeds, fertilizers, agricultural facilities/tools, infrastructure, post-harvest,
distribution, processing of produce, price stability, to fulfilled food at the level of
consumption. The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of agribusiness
systems as well as socio-economic factors of soybean farmers in North Sumatra. To assess
the performance of agribusiness systems with good criteria, good enough and less good
used questionnaire data by shifting the answer score by weight. To test socioeconomic
factors, a formula for multiple linear regression is used. The results showed that farmers
in carrying out aspects of organizing on average were good (score 31.6). Statistical tests
of socio-economic factors of age (X2), education (X3), number of dependents (X5) have no
real effect on the income of soybean farmers (Y) while land area (X1)and experience (X4)
have a real effect on the income of soybean farmers (Y).

Abstract: Farmer groups as a forum for organization and collaboration between members have a
very important role in the life of the farming community, because all activities and
problems in farming are carried out by groups simultaneously. With the existence of
farmer groups, farmers can jointly solve problems which include the fulfillment of
agricultural production facilities, technical production and marketing of products. Seeing
this potential, farmer groups need to be fostered and empowered further in order to
develop optimally. In increasing rice production, it is necessary to preserve the production
environment, one of which is through the use of organic fertilizers. Various forms and
materials of organic fertilizer can be applied depending on the availability at the farm
location. In an effort to improve sustainable farming, The things that are applied are
increasing productivity in farming activities and the use of superior seeds, the use of
fertilizers, pesticides and the application of cooperation for the manufacture of fertilizers
so that group members do not need to buy fertilizer. The existence of institutions/KUD in
a village is very helpful for farming communities because these institutions can also take
capital loans for farmers so that farmers are able to provide good production facilities,
which so far farmers have only relied on outside capital, which is not certain whether they
can afford it. continue to cooperate with farmer groups.

Abstract: Problems in the agricultural sector always take place, especially the problem of
increasing income, which focuses on the issue of the production of agricultural
products, especially potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L). Simalungun Regency is an region
that has superior commodity of potato plants. There are still problems encountered,
especially the availability of superior seeds that have not met standardization, fertilizer
that has not been met, and limited labor. The objectives of this study are: 1) To find out
the social aspects, economic aspects, and environmental aspects influence the income of
highland potato farmers in the agropolitan area in Simalungun Regency. 2) To find out
the sustainable agricultural development model affect the income of highland potato
farmers in the agropolitan area in Simalungun Regency. Sustainable agricultural
development is a relationship of several aspects that are integrated with one another.
With the ongoing process of sustainable agricultural development the target
achievement is a strategy to increase the income of potato farmers. The population in
this study was the potato farmer community from four Districts of 800 consisting of
Purba District, Pematang Silimahuta District, Dolok Silo District, Silimakuta District
and 200 people were taken using the Cochran formula. Data collection techniques used
a questionnaire given to each respondent whose results can be tabulated. The method
used is Structural Equational Modeling (SEM) analysis using the AMOS program.
Based on the results of testing with structural equation modeling, with the AMOS 21
program at the final stage, namely the stage after the modification of the model gives a
better model of goodness of fit. The path coefficient of sustainability effect on potato
farmers is 0.860, where the structural equation form can be written as follows: Ŷ = 0.860
X, R-square = 0.739. The direct effect of sustainable agriculture (X) on the income of
farmers (Y) of potato crops was 0.860.
