THE SPEAKING ABILITY OF THE SECOND YEAR STUDENTS OF SMA BINA BERSAUDARA TRITURA MEDAN

Abstract

This research concerns with students’ ability in speaking. The problem in this research what are the achievement of the second year students of SMA Bina Bersaudara Tritura Medan in speaking. The objective of this research is to investigate the ability of the second year students of SMA Bina Bersaudara Tritura Medan in speaking. The method use is descriptive quantitative analysis. The Population of this research as the achievement of the second year at SMA Bina Bersaudara Tritura Medan in speaking. Thus the sample is as much as the population that is the achievement of the respondents from the second year students of SMA Bina Bersaudara Tritura Medan in answering the tests of speaking. Based on the data, it was found that there was eighty percents of the students were successful in speaking subject, while the rest (20%) of the students were failed. It was concluded that the second year students of SMA Bina Bersaudara Tritura Medan had ‘more than fair’ level of ability in speaking.
