dc.description.abstractThis research goal was to know the implementation of TBLT in improving students’ speaking skills through cartoon story makers and to know the students’ improvement on speaking skills by implementing Task-Based Language Teaching.This research was accomplished by the tenth-grade students of social science I of SMAS Bandung Percut Sei Tuan in which consisted of 20 students as respondents. The methodology of this research used CAR which is designed by Arikunto which each consists of four phases; planning, acting, observing, and reflectingpercycle.Insustainingtheresearchresult,twotypesofdataare collected; qualitative data that derived from observation and interview towards the students and the teacher as well. On the other hand, the quantitative data that derived from the test result; pre-test and post-test results. Then those data were analyzed by the researcher by using statistical analysis to know the final result of the implementation of TBLTin improving students’ speaking skills in the CAR. The result of this study show, that the implementation of TBLTin improving students’speaking skill was effective.It was provenbydata that were derived from this study.There were found 21.73 points of improvement of the students’ mean score; 16 points were derived from post-test I result and 5.73 points werederived from post-test II after implementing TBLT. On the other hand, there were 81.5% of students had passed the KKM (70); 36.9% were obtained from the first cycle and 81.5% were obtained from the second cycle. Based on the result, there were 16 of 20 it meant that 81.5% of the students who passed the KKM exceed 75%. It can be concluded that this CAR was successful.en_US
