The Effectiveness of Using Storytelling Technique on Students' Speaking Skill at SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Masihul

Abstract

The aims of this study to find effective evidence that the use of storytelling technique can increase the speaking skill at SMA Negeri 1 DolokMasihul. The total of sample in this study was 70 students from two experimental and control class. The method used in this study was use experimental design to determinethe effectiveness of storytelling technique for students. The method was used quantitative, namely a method that used numerical and statistical calculations data. The result of t-observed was 14 and t-table was 1.99 it means that t-observed higher than t-table. It can be concluded that the students’ speaking skill in experimental class that were given by the treatment through storytelling technique was improved more effectively than the control class. Because the result of t-observed is higher than t-table, it means that there was any significant effect of using storytelling technique on students’ speaking skill at SMA Negeri 1 DolokMasihul.
