The Effect of Watching Folktales Movie For Students' Listening Skill at SMP Swasta Reis Cendikia Tembung

Abstract

The objective of the research was found out the Effect of folktales movie for students’ listening skill at SMP Reis Cendikia Tembung. The method was quantitative experimental research. The experimental research designed were used two classes which were taught two different techniqueses. The experimental class was taught with watching Folktales movie, and the controlled class was taught without Folktales movie.the populations in Sevent grade students’ of SMP Reis Cendikia Tembung consist of 75 students : the sample was 50 students’ ( 25 students experimental class and 25 students controlled class).in this study, the researcher wanted to try to provide folktales movie to help students’ learn about listening. Based on calculations, the averege Experimental class is 73,6 and the average control class 66,4. Based on the result of the study, it can be conclude that there is an increase in listening students through watching folktales movie. Researcher hope that the result of this study will benefit English students and teachers. English teachers must increase their competence by incrasing mastery of their material, using appropriateand interesting media,using English language skills.
