FAMILY CONFLICT REFLECTED IN KEVIN KWAN'S NOVEL " RICH PEOPLE PROBLEM "; A SOCIOLOGICAL APPROACH

Abstract

The objective of the research was to analyze family conflicts reflected in Rich People Problem novel. This research was to use sociological approaches and social action theory. This research was taken from "Rich People Problem" novel written by Kevin Kwan’s. This research rose the following problems: 1) What type of family conflict was reflected in Kevin Kwan’s novel “Rich People Problem? 2) What causes family conflict in Rich People Problem novel? So that it can be known the cause and type of family conflict contained in Rich People Problem novel. The results showed there were two types of family conflict, the first type of family conflict was internal and external, the second cause of family conflict was differences in language and tradition and inheritance.
