The Effect of Audio Visual Method towards the English Listening Skill 11th Grade on Students of SMA Istiqlal Delitua

Abstract

The primary objective of this research was to find out whether there was any significant effect of using audio visual method on students listening skill. The research was conducted by using experimental design The population of this research was the first year students of SMA Istiqlal Deli Tua 2021-2022 academic year. The sample was 60 students, 30 students in control group and 30 students in experimental group. The control group was taught by audio/speaker while the experimental group was taught by audio visual method. The data of this study were collected by using the test. The test was in the form of multiple choice, which consisting 10 multiple choice per items. Those test consisted of two types: they were pre-test and post-test. After collecting the data, then the researcher analyzed them by using t-test. It was found that the t-observed (5,39) was higher than t-table (2,00) at the level significance 0,05 and the degree of freedom (df) 58. (5,39>2,00, P=0,05). It meant that the use of audio visual method significantly effects on students listening skill.
