Improving Students' Skill in Writing Descriptive Text by Using Animation Video at Grade X SMA Istiqlal Delitua

Abstract

This research deals with improving students’ skill in writing descriptive text by using animation video at grade x SMA Istiqlal Delitua. This research was conducted by applying the method of Class Action Research (CAR) which have 2 cycle and 2 meetings in each cycle. The subject of this research was students’ of X IPA 1 that consists of 33 students. The learning - teaching process have conducted by offline and online because of the situation of Covid-19. In offline class the of learning – teaching process conducted in clalssroom while in online class the learning- teaching process conducted by Whats’App group. The data of students’ score in writing descriptive text have collected by quantitative and qualitative. In quantitative data by analyzed it statistically and in quantitative by giving the description about the student’ skill in writing descriptive text. The mean of students’ score in cycle I was 74,48 and the mean of students’ score in cycle II was 87,60. From the result of this research can be concluded that by using animation video the students’ skill in writing descriptive text have improved at grade x ipa 1 SMA Istiqlal Delitua.
