The comparative study between using and without using dialogue to improve students' speaking skill

Abstract

This research is (An Action Research Conducted At The Third Grade Students Of SMP MMA UISU Medan The Academic Year 2019/2010). In this research, the writer used experimental group and control group. The population of them the consisted 75 students and the sample consisted of 25 students. The objectives of the research are to know extent of the improvement of students’ speaking skill through dialogue activities and, also particularly their poor pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. The students’ problem in their pronunciation and grammar make their speech hard to be recognized. The students have poor speaking and poor vocabulary may lead to misunderstanding in delivering something in oral communication. Collect the data student from interview and speaking test, the data analysis through quantitative which include: pre-test the teacher to do interview to students, treatment the teacher lesson plan about material all related to the action and post-test make a group discussion. The students get score in pre-test and post-test of experimental group average is 77,8 and score in pre-test and post-test of control group is 80, so dominant student have high score is control group it means that through group discussion.
