Abstract: This research is entitled "An Analysis on pessimism of Obama Era As Reflected Green’s The Fault in Our Stars”. The purpose of this study is to find out pessimism and pessimism affect in Hazel Grace as the main character that reflected Obama Era that found in the novel “The Fault in our Stars” by John Green. The method that has been used in this research is qualitative, because this method can provide accurate data. The Data obtained from novel The Fault in Our Stars consisting of 313 pages. Data is also taken from the books and journals concerned with this research. The results showed that pessimism in Hazel Grace reflected Society in Obama Era, the reason pessimism affect in Hazel Grace also reflected Omaba Era.
