KATNISS REBELLION IN SUZANNE COLLIN'S THE HUNGER GAMES NOVEL

Abstract

This study is proposed to reveal find out what rebellious behavior of the main character did. The purpose of this study is to analyze rebellion based on inhumanity. And to analyze the rebellion in the novel The Hunger Games (2008) novel by Suzanne Collins. The writer employs qualitative research. The writer uses two data sources: primary and secondary. The primary data source is about the novel itself. Then the secondary data are taken from other sources which are related to the primary data such as the literary books, dictionary, some articles related to the novel and website about The Hunger Games novel. The technique of data collection is library and some journals research. The technique of analyzing data is descriptive qualitative. Data collected is by regularly reading novels and understanding the contents of the novel, then finding some existing data. The theory used to analyze the data uses a behavioristic approach theory. After analyzing the data, several reasons and goals of Katniss as the main character in the novel were found in participating in the game event.
