Abstract: | The research aims to determine the effect of role play method on students’ language achievement with different STIFIn theory. Population of the research is all second grade of SD Al Fauzi Medan that consists of 61 students. Technique collecting data used is tests, observations, and interviews. This type of research was a mixed method. This research used pre-test and post-test. Before the treatment, the researcher did a pre-test in the class. Moreover, the researcher taught speaking by a role play technique in the experimental group. The last, the researcher conducted a post-test in the class to know whether a role play technique is effective for language achievement. The researcher scored five components of speaking skills (Comprehension, Fluency, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, and Grammar) of each student in second grade. After calculating the quantitative data, it can be obtained The mean score of pre-test is 51,80 and the mean score of post-test is 74,42. Therefore, the end result is the sig. (2-tailed) is 0,000 which means < 0,05. The conclusion is H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, where there is a significant effect of role play method on students’ learning achievement at SD Al Fauzi Medan. |
