The Effect of Learning By Talking Chips Technique On Students' Ability In Speaking

Abstract

This research aimed to Improved the Students’ Speaking Ability By Using Talking Chips Technique. The subject of the study were thestudents of SMA PAB Patumbak. Academic Year 2019/2020. The subject of the research is student at XI-1 and XI-2 class of SMAPAB Patumbakacademic year 2019/2020. The total number is 84students. The data analysis used is the quantitative research it meansthat the research collects the data from the field and must go to placeof the research. Moreover, in this research the writer used quasiexperiment because in the research there will be pre-test and posttest get the data.Two classes were involved in this research; it isexperimental class and control class. Compared the value of to and tt,showed that the value of t-observed is bigger than the value of t-table or 13,97> 2,02. It means that the hypothesis is accepted.Based on the calculation and explanation above, it is concluded that there was a significant effect of applying Talking chips technique to the students’ competence in speaking ability.” and the hypothesis is accepted, on the other word, the student achievement taught by using Talking Chips techniquein teaching Speaking skill is higher than those without Talking Chips technique.
