THE EFFECTIVENESS OF QUESTIONING TECHNIQUE IN TEACHING CONVERSATION

Abstract

This research concerns with the students’ ability in conversation by using questioning technique in teaching conversation. The objectives of this research was to describe the effectiveness of questioning technique in teaching English conversation. The method used in this research was experimental method. The population of the research were the second year students of MAS Al Washliyah 22 Tembung in 2018 – 2019 academic year. To get the data, the second year students of MAS Al Washliyah 22 Tembung were treated as samples.They were given the test of conversation. The students’ score between before and after treatment was significant, and the students’ score between experimental group and control group also have different high significant score. The class that used questioning technique got the higher score than the class that used non-questioning technique. From the result of this research, it can be concluded that there was significant effect of questioning technique on students’ ability in conversation.
