Abstract: The purpose of this research was to improve students’ Conversation ability by using interview technique. This research used a classroom action research as form of research. The subjects of this research were class XI SMK Istiqlal Deli Tua Medan in academic year 2019/2020 which consists of 26 students and This research was conducted in two cycles which each consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data were gathered through quantitative and qualitative data. The techniques of collecting data in this research were observation and measurement . the tools of collecting data were observation checklist, field notes and test of speaking. Based on the data revealed in observation, there were improvements in students’ speaking skills in conversation on every cycle. Students’ mean score in the first cycle was 23,1 % which was categorized poor. In the second cycle the mean score of students was 46,1% which was categorized poor to average. Then, in the last post-test of cycle II the mean score of students was 84,6% which was categorized average to good. In conclusion, Job Interview Technique improved the students’ conversation ability at second grade students of XI SMK Istiqlal Deli Tua Medan in academic year 2019/2020.
