dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research entitled “The Use of Messenger in Communication to Native Speaker in Mastering Students’ Writing Skill” was to find out the effect messenger on students’ achievement in writing. This research applied two classes which were divided into two groups which consisted of Experimental group and Control group. The first group was experimental group which was taught by using messenger, while the second one was control group and it was taught by using conventional technique. The population of this research was students at the VIII Grade students of MTSS LAB IKIP AL WASHLIYAH MEDAN in Academic year 2019/2020 and the sample was taken 30 students from every class. So, total of the sample was 60 students. A writing test was administrated as the instrument in collecting data. These test consisted of three types ; namely pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The collected data was analyzed using the t-test formula. The t critical value with df = (N1 + N2)-2 / (30 + 30) – 2 = 58 and significance level at 0,025 was 2,001. Based on the data analysis above, the alternative hypothesis of this research was accepted, because t-observation was higher than t-critical value (3,59 >2,001). Therefore, it can be concluded that messenger has significant effects on the students’ achievement in writing.en_US
