AN ANALYSIS OF CODE MIXING IN MASTERCHEF INDONESIA THROUGH RCTI PROGRAMS

Abstract

This research is related to the code mixing phenomenon in Masterchef Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to find; (1) what type of code mixing appeared in the conversation by the judges at Masterchef Indonesia (2) and which mixed code was the most dominant appeared by the judges. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data taken from the jury's conversation contained mixed codes during the broadcasting process at Masterchef Indonesia. From the analysis, it was found that the type of code mixing, namely; word insertion, phrase insertion, and clause insertion. Research shows that word insertion is more dominant in this study. The number of word insertions is 85, while the 25 phrases and clauses are 18.
