THE EFFECT OF WATCHING FROZEN MOVIE IN WRITING DISCRIFTIVE TEXT

Abstract

This study is focused on the effect of watching frozen film in writing descriptive texts. The purpose of this study is to find evidence of the difference between student achievements in writing descriptive texts by implementing frozen films. This is experimental research. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of Tanjung Morawa 1 Junior High School. The sample of this study was 64 students, 32 students for the experimental group while 30 students for the control group. The experimental group used frozen film while the control group without using frozen film. After the data was analyzed, the mean of the experimental group was 79.75. Meanwhile the mean of the control group is 68,69. The data shows that the use of frozen film can help students in writing descriptive texts. It is recommended that teacher can apply frozen films to improve students' ability to write descriptive texts.
