dc.description.abstractListening is the most necessary part that students have to comprehend well in the learning activity, there are 4 skills of English, namely listening, speaking, reading, writing. Listening as the first skill of English, should be as priority. The subject of this reserach was two class that is IPA 1 as experimental class and IPA 2 control class of eleventh grade students’ SMAN 1 Lawe Alas Kutacane Aceh Tenggara, in academy year 2021/2022. Each class consists of 35 students and total of is 70 students’. This research was conducted by using quantitative research with experimental and control classs, the quantitative data was gained from tests such as pre-test and post-test. Therefore, this study aims to improve students' listening skills by using English songs. In collecting the required data, observation papers and tests were used as research instruments. Based on the analyzed data, it shows that the results of the researchers on the IPA 1 pre-test are 24% and the results of the IPA 2 pretest are 23.14%. while the results of the IPA post test for the first song are 11.17%, the second song is 60%, and the last song is 84.57%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that using English songs can improve the listening skills of eleventh graders of SMAN 1 Lawe Alas.en_US
