Abstract: This study was aimed to improve students’ speaking improvement by using instructional media for picture series in fifth grade students’ of BinaAgung elementary school academic year 2019-2020. The problem in this study is whether using picture series improvement students’ speaking abilities. There were two classes that become the study sample, namely V-A as the experimental group and V-B as the control group. And the total number was 39 students’. Data was collected using pre-test and post-test experimental research methods. Then, the researcher give a post-test to both the experimental and control groups to obtain the final grades of students’, the students in the experimental group were taught with picture series media while giving lessons as usual without the media to the control group. Using media picture series can show the affect of increasing students’ speaking ability with achievements in the score post-test of the experimental group (90.71) which is higher than that score post-test of the control group (69.72). There calculations of t-observed is higher than t-table (4.00> 2.00)the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test formula obtained 4.0. The conclusion of this research was the improvement and development of students’ ability to use picture series to talk. It is recommended that english teachers motivate their students’ to learn English seriously more actively.
