THE USE OF AUDIO-VISUAL METHOD ON THE STUDENTS' SPEAKING ABILITY

Abstract

This research dealt with the use of audio-visual method on the students’ speaking ability. The objectives of the research were to find out the speaking achievement of the students after taught using audio-visual method and to find out the use of audio-visual method affect students’ speaking ability. The research design in this research was quantitative experimental research. The instrument to collect the data was test by oral test. The subject of the research was grade X in MAS Al Washliyah 21 Firdaus. In addition, there were pre-test, treatment or teaching and post-test in both of experimental and control group. The t-test was 31,86 and t-table was 2,00 which was used 0,05 as the significant level of this research. Because the t-test value is higher than t-table (31,86> 2,00), it shows that the Ha was accepted. Based on the result of this research, it shows that there was statistically significant improvement of the students’ speaking ability. This indicates that audio-visual method can improve students’ speaking ability.
